Abu Yahya al-Libi
Abu Yahya al-Libi was killed in a drone strike on June 4, 2012. He was a Libyan citizen born in 1963. He was a veteran of fighting against the Soviets in Afghanistan. He was an Islamic scholar and a high-ranking official within Al-Qaeda. He was captured in Afghanistan in 2002, but escaped from detention at Bagram in 2005. He produced several propaganda videos advocating for Al-Qaeda using his religious training. Al-Libi had a $1 million reward on his head.
