Ahmad Abousamra was killed on April 5, 2017 in an airstrike on a house where he was staying in Syria. He was charged along with Tarek Mehana on October 21, 2009, for providing and conspiring to provide material support to terrorists and for conspiring to kill in a foreign country. Tarek is in custody and will be tried, but Ahmad escaped to Syria back in 2006. Together with an unnamed informant, Ahmad and Tarek allegedly conspired to train in overseas camps, assassinate U.S. government leaders, and attack shopping malls with automatic weapons. Authorities had been offering $50,000 for tips leading to his arrest.
