Taliban Chief in Pakistan
Maulana Fazlullah was killed in June 2018 by a drone strike along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He was also known as "Radio Mullah." He started a Swat Valley radio broadcast in 2006 through which he preached against vices like music, dancing, shaving, and education for women. He became the new "Emir" or Chief of the Tehrik-e-Taliban in Pakistan following Hakimullah Mehsud's death by drone in 2013. The US Department of State had designated him to be a Specially Designated Global Terrorist and had issued a $5 million reward for information that would stop him.
