Muhsin al-Fadhli was killed in Syria on July 8th 2015 by an air strike. He was an Iran-based senior al-Qaida facilitator and financier. He had reportedly replaced Ezedin Abdel Aziz Khalil (better known as Yasin al-Suri) as al-Qaida’s senior leader in Iran. He was wanted by law enforcement authorities in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United States for terrorism-related activities. He fought alongside the Taliban and al-Qaida in Afghanistan. He reportedly knew ahead of time about the attack on 9-11. The US Justice Department was offering $7 million for information that would locate him.
