Tarkhan Tayumurazovich Batirashvili
Tarkhan Tayumurazovich Batirashvili was killed by a US airstrike on ISIL in July 2016. He was from the country of Georgia and was also known as Abu Omar al-Shishani and Omar the Chechen. He was born on January 11, 1986. He had held a number of top military positions within the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). He oversaw a prison facility where ISIL possibly held foreign hostages. He had coordinated closely with ISIL's financial and logistical operations, and he had been in charge of fighters from Chechnya and elsewhere in the Caucasus. The U.S. Justice Department was offering up to $5 million as reward for information that would bring him to justice.
