Abukar Ali Adan is also known as Ibrahim Afghan, and Sheikh Abukar. The US Department of State Rewards for Justice program is offering up to $5 million for information leading to his identification or location. He spent several years leading al-Shabaab's military wing, the Jabhat, and was al-Shabaab's military chief. He is currently the al-Shabaab's deputy leader. Al-Shabaab is a designated terrorist organization based in the Horn of Africa. Its attacks in Kenya, Somalia, and neighboring countries have taken many lives.
