Amer El-Maati is a Canadian citizen who was born in Kuwait on May 25, 1963. He is a suspected member of Al Qaeda. His father, who resides in Toronto, claims the accusations are laughable and that his son is being vilified in order to keep fear and suspicion of Canadian Arabs high. Interrogations of captives indicate he was one of seven operatives planning terror attacks in the USA in the summer of 2004, causing him to be placed on the FBI’s "War on Terrorism Seeking Information" list.
